Changzhi Township in Pingtung County has signed a joint declaration to establish a sister-city relationship with Dingalan, Aurora, Philippines, aiming to foster collaboration in agriculture, fisheries, tourism, education, and culture.

The signing ceremony, held in Subic Bay, was attended by Changzhi Mayor Wu Liang-ching and Dingalan Mayor Shierwin Taay.

Wu expressed readiness to support Dingalan through agricultural projects and technology transfers, suggesting that the Pingtung Agricultural Biotechnology Park could help process and distribute Dingalan’s agricultural and fishery products globally.

Taay emphasized the strong connection between Filipinos and Taiwan, noting the expansion of Taiwanese businesses in the Philippines. He sees the partnership as an opportunity for friendship and mutual growth. A Dingalan delegation will visit Changzhi in March to explore cooperation, with a formal agreement pending legislative approval from both sides.
