SEARCA opens doors for research grants for innovative agriculture

The Southeast Asian Regional Centre for Graduate Study and Research in Agriculture (SEARCA), is accepting proposals for its “Grants for Research towards Agricultural Innovative Solutions” (GRAINS) program until August 9.

Dr. Glenn Gregorio, SEARCA Centre Director, highlighted that GRAINS aims to empower researchers and innovators to develop solutions for a more sustainable and resilient agricultural sector in Southeast Asia.

SEARCA announced that the GRAINS program offers significant funding for research addressing key agricultural challenges.

Eligible projects include development of sustainable agriculture; climate-resilient agriculture; biotechnology in agriculture; improvement in the value chain; food security and well-functioning agricultural policies.

Applications are invited from researchers and innovators in higher learning institutions, government agencies, nonprofit organizations, and the private sector in Southeast Asia. The selected applicants will be granted funding to do research of up to a year, covering costs such as personnel, equipment, fieldwork, and dissemination of information.
